The Made in the Murray Food and Drink Showcase, set for Saturday, August 24, at Radcliffe’s, will provide a platform for regional producers.
Campaspe Shire Mayor Rob Amos said council was excited to host the event, which is aimed at both residents and out-of-towners.
“Campaspe Shire Council is proud to be an inaugural partner of the Made in the Murray Food and Drink Showcase,” he said.
“Our team have worked hard to help develop an exciting new event to elevate the profile of local producers and makers, whilst showcasing the wonderful range of delicacies produced here to locals and visitors alike.”
The first event in the series will be held in Yarrawonga on Saturday, August 10, at The Sebel, before the Echuca edition a fortnight later.
Murray Regional Tourism chief executive Cameron Sutton said he believed the showcases would be beneficial for both businesses and guests.
“This investment will elevate local producers to a wider audience, providing crucial support to our businesses and enhancing the overall visitor experience,” he said.
“This series will not only highlight the exceptional quality of our local food and drink producers but also drive economic growth and tourism in the Murray region.
“Our collaboration with Moira Shire Council and Campaspe Shire Council exemplifies the power of unified regional efforts.
“Together, we are committed to delivering outstanding events that celebrate local talent and foster community spirit.”
Producers and farmers from across the region are invited to attend both events to reach a larger audience.
The showcase also looks to improve the culinary reputation of the area as a whole.
“This initiative is a crucial step towards positioning the Murray region as a premier destination for food and drink tourism,” Mr Sutton said.
“These events promise to deliver memorable experiences for attendees, highlighting the rich culinary heritage and innovative spirit of our region.”
The first event will be held at The Sebel Yarrawonga on Saturday, August 10, from 10am to 2pm. Radcliffe’s Echuca is hosting the second on Saturday, August 24, also from 10am to 2pm.
