THE State Government is inviting community groups and local councils from across Victoria to apply for grants to boost road safety in their area.
Member for Northern Victoria Mark Gepp has announced the next round of the TAC’s Towards Zero Community Grants program is now open.
Grants of up to $30,000 are available to community groups and local councils.
“2018 saw the lowest road toll in history in regional Victoria and the Andrews Labor Government is committed to getting the road toll even further,’’ Mr Gepp said.
Applications for the grants are now open and close May 8.
Information on the grant program including guidelines and how to apply can be found at tac.vic.gov.au/tzcg
Coffee with a cop
GUNBOWER residents are encouraged to have a chat with their local police over coffee on Wednesday.
Coffee with a Cop provides an opportunity for community members to ask questions and learn more about the police work occurring in the area.
Campaspe police Acting Inspector Dave Rowe said it would be an informal event to discuss community issues, build relationships and drink coffee.
‘‘Don’t miss the chance to have your questions answered or raise any concerns you may have,’’ he said.
Local police officers will be at the Workshop Cafe in Main St, Gunbower, between 10am and noon..
