Food trucks and the Beach Cafe will be providing refreshments, while Dutch Thunder Wildlife Rescue will be on hand alongside sand castle competitions, live music and kids activities.
The highlight of the day is arguably the duck race. Attendees can purchase a duck for the race in hopes they take home a share of the winnings.
This year, Finley High School will pitch in to make sure the ducks are accounted for once they finish the race from the old Cobram bridge.
Each year some ducks go missing due to attendees wanting a souvenir, but the Year 7 students will be taking on the task of identifying the missing ducks so they can be replaced.
Class teacher Nikki Bird said the students worked together to find the best way to find the missing ducks so Cobram Barooga Business and Tourism knew which numbers to replace.
“The students showed tremendous teamwork and it is great to be part of a really successful community event,” she said.
Cobram Barooga Business and Tourism chairperson Nikki Goldsworthy said they were very grateful to the students for helping with the job.
“It really is a time-consuming job but one that needs to be done every year and the assistance really is appreciated,” she said.
To thank the students, CBBT has given duck number 1000 to the school to barrack for and provide some money for the school if it wins.
