Flood exhibition wraps up

A video of the photos that were on display in the exhibition is now available for viewing on the Gannawarra Shire Council website.

Many of the images were taken by local residents and captured the aftermath of the floods as well as the community’s road to recovery.

Mayor Ross Stanton expressed his appreciation for the community’s involvement in the exhibition.

“Council thanks all residents who contributed to this exhibition, which has provided a powerful visual representation of the 2022 floods, as well as the many visitors to the locations where the exhibition was displayed,” Cr Stanton said.

“The exhibition is a permanent reminder of how the 2022 floods impacted our communities and how our residents responded to support each other and protect properties from inundation.”

Council staff will now begin the process of returning all items to contributors as a thank you for their efforts.

The exhibition was funded by the Victorian and federal governments under the Commonwealth-State Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements as part of the Gannawarra Community Flood Recovery Program.
