He did find a $10 note outside his house, but his house was flooded.
“It’s my lucky day!” he said as he picked up the note, right before calling his insurers.
“I’m going to go up to my daughter’s place and ring up now and give them a pre-empt and tell them that it looks like it might happen again, we don’t know,” Mr White said.
Seymour’s flood waters stalked Mr White’s Butler St home through Thursday night and into the early hours of Friday.
“It just kept coming up slowly and I thought, yeah, we’re going to be right, we’re going to be right. It’s going to stay there,” he said.
“And then I closed the door and I had a look around and behind the fridge it had started coming up through the floor.
“That was about half-past-one.”
He is looking on the bright side though, saying it is mainly floor coverings he’ll have to replace, and at least he has $10 to put towards those.
