That peak is lower than the earlier predicted totals of 95.9m told to the general public at Monday’s community meeting at Echuca East and a 95.6m figured shared on Tuesday night.
Then SES chief officer operations Tim Wiebusch provided a different figure and time in his 12.30pm briefing today.
“The Bureau is forecasting a major flood warning on 94.8m on Saturday and a peak of around 95m on Tuesday,” Mr Wiebusch said.
“The river levels will remain high at that level for many days and then we will see those waters head down to Torrumbarry, near Cohuna and into Swan Hill.
Mr Wiebusch reiterated the evacuate now warnings for Echuca and Echuca Village.
“This is the most serious warning we’ve issued. We’re asking people to take action now and take themselves away from the threat of major flooding.”
The Murray River continues to creep higher.
As of 9am today, the Murray River was 94.58m (AHD) at Echuca Wharf and rated steady.
That represents a rise of 14cm in the previous 24 hour period.
In its 11am update, VicEmergency is predicting the Murray River at Echuca-Moama may reach around 94.80m (AHD) during Sunday, bringing with it major flooding.
This level is similar to the October 1993 flood event (94.77m AHD).
The Murray River at Torrumbarry Weir may reach around 7.85 metres around 24-29 October, with major flooding.
This is higher than the January 1974 flood.
The Murray River at Barham may reach 6.20 metres around 24-29 October, with major flooding.
This is higher than the October 1993 and 2016 floods.
Further rises are possible.
The level of the Campaspe River in Echuca at 10am today was 94.41m AHD and above the moderate flood level.
The river is expected to remain around the moderate flood level today and into tomorrow.
Renewed rises are predicted in the coming days due to flood waters backing up from the Murray River.
Emergency evacuation warnings remain in place for parts of Echuca, Echuca Village and Moama.
A moderate flood warning remains in place for Nathalia-Picola-Barmah.
The moderate flood warning issued earlier in the week remains in place for Torrumbarry, Gunbower, Leitchville and Patho.
The major flood warning for Glyn Road, Wharparilla also remains in place, as does the moderate flood warning for O’Dwyer Road, Wharparilla.
Mr Wiebusch shared an update for Rochester.
“At Rochester we’ve got good news. The level of the Campaspe is back at the minor flood level and it will continue to be that way over the next few days,” he said.
