One by one, 13 Goulburn Valley Grammar School students and one staff member walked across the Founders Hall stage, ready to shave their heads or cut most of their hair off.
In the four weeks leading up to the event, $7228 had been raised in preparation for the big day on Thursday, August 31.
Sky Salon barber Ammar Mohammad and Signature Cuts barber Aziz Shamri were behind the clippers during the World’s Greatest Shave event.
GVGS student representative council prefects Chatra Kahawage and Erin Hicks organised the event with the help of the school and the charity.
“World’s Greatest Shave was a really amazing event in bringing both the school and wider community together,” Erin said.
“We are so grateful for all the support and participation on the day — it was great to see so much enthusiasm around raising funds to support research into a cure for leukaemia and the support shown towards everyone who donated their hair.”
The News went along to the event to soak up the atmosphere. Here’s what was captured.
