This weekend at Shepparton Golf Club, the Shane Warne Legacy Health Check will be available for residents of Greater Shepparton.
From Friday, November 15, to Sunday, November 17, all individuals, whether they wield a club, a bat or neither, can benefit from the free service.
“It’s good to be able to give something back to not just our members but also to the community,” Shepparton Golf Club general manager Drew Curtis said.
The health check, provided in partnership with the Shane Warne Legacy Foundation and SiSU Health, involves a swift four-minute assessment using the SiSU Health Station, focusing on cardiovascular health, incorporating blood pressure, heart rate, medication use, BMI, diabetes and more.
For those who are hesitant to consult their doctor about health concerns, Mr Curtis said the health check was an ideal option.
“It’s private — it’s a self-service machine, and you register via email,” he said.
“You don’t need to make an appointment either, anyone can pop in.”
An email will be sent to the individual with their results post-check, offering further guidance if any risks are detected.
“It’s just four minutes out of your day, and it might save someone's life,” Mr Curtis said.
