The supermarket chain is offering customers the opportunity to buy a $2 wall token, with all funds raised going directly to children in need.
Woolworths Echuca, Kerang, Kyabram and Moama group manager James Hogben said the campaign launched on October 13 and would run until October 31.
“As the Echuca community begins to prepare for Halloween, we know this year’s celebrations will be a little different for many of us. We want to provide an opportunity, for those who are able to, to support children in need at the same time.
“We’re constantly amazed by the generous spirit of our customers and the ongoing support they show for our partnership with The Royal Children's Hospital Good Friday Appeal.
“This year, while shopping for their pumpkins, costumes and decorations for Halloween celebrations at home, we’re encouraging customers who are able to support other children and their families in Victoria, to make a charity donation or add a Halloween token to their shop.”
Royal Children's Hospital Good Friday Appeal director Rebecca Cowan said support was crucial, especially during a tough year.
“This year has been tough on all families across Australia, so we are incredibly grateful for the ongoing support from Woolworths customers to help The Royal Children's Hospital deliver the best possible care to our patients and their families in Victoria,” she said.
“A $2 donation can truly help improve the lives of other families doing it tough in what has been an already challenging year.”
