This year is no different, with all the funds raised going to Shepparton FoodShare.
The tournament will be held at the club on Thursday, March 17 at 9.30am, followed by a barbecue lunch for the competitors.
The entry fee is $10 per person, and the club has requested that participants wear either something green or their bowls uniform, and there will be a prize for the best-dressed team.
Throughout the event, there will be several opportunities for participants to win prizes, and the club has asked for donations of cash, goods and vouchers of any kind towards the prize pool.
Charity day tournament committee convenor Ron Holland said that last year, the club had received over $14,000 in raffle and spinning wheel prizes.
“With your help, we are again looking to continue to assist the many needy in our community through funds for Shepparton FoodShare, which, in turn, assists a wide range of charity services to continue their great work,” Mr Holland said.
Shepparton FoodShare chairman Jeremy Rensford thanked the club for its “ongoing help and investment. It’s not the first time the club supported FoodShare”.
Mr Rensford also expressed his gratitude for the support FoodShare had received from the Shepparton community.
“The prevailing message is just how grateful we are to the community. We couldn’t exist without your support,” he said.
