Echuca Regional Health recently welcomed the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission team on site at Glanville Village to undertake an assessment against the National Safety and Quality Health Services Standards.

As the national regulator of aged care services, the Commission protects the health, safety and wellbeing of older Australians.
Executive director nursing midwifery/chief nursing officer Maree Woodhouse advised that the final report had been received and ERH was pleased to report that Glanville Village met all 42 criteria of the eight quality standards.

“The residents and their representatives were interviewed and provided feedback to the surveyors that the Glanville Village environment was welcoming, comfortable, clean and well maintained,” she said.
“They also spoke of how the staff treat them with respect and care and expressed they felt supported to make informed decisions about their care and services.
“The assessment showed that ERH and Glanville Village have effective governance systems in place. Most pleasing was the voice of our residents throughout the report, telling stories about how great it is to live and be cared for in Glanville Village.
“The nurse unit manager of Glanville Village, Danielle Clark, is to be commended for her leadership and all staff who contribute to the exceptional care and environment provided to Glanville Village residents.”
