Campaspe Shire Council announced on September 16 that Glenn Starr would be performing at the Kyabram Bocce Club on Wednesday, October 23 as the featured star of the Seniors Concert.
The concert runs alongside celebrations for the Victorian Seniors Festival from October 1 to 31.
The festival is delivered across the state with all 79 local councils creating celebrations for older citizens with the aim of providing opportunities for engaging, free and low-cost entertainment.
This year’s theme of ‘Explore. Engage. Evolve’ aims to encourage older Victorians to stay curious and connected by trying new activities, connecting with new people and in turn changing the status quo of ageing.
And what better way of encapsulating the theme than a fun and entertaining gathering where Campaspe senior citizens can connect and relive the greatest hits from the 1950s and ’60s.
Acting chief executive Michael Sharp said council was proud to be able to put on the show once again to celebrate senior citizens and their ongoing contribution to the community.
“Our annual Seniors Concert is one of the highlights of council’s event calendar,” he said.
“It provides a wonderful opportunity for seniors to enjoy a social day out with a fantastic musical performance.”
Starr will bring his ‘Hit Parade’ concert to the Kyabram Bocce Club, situated on the corner of Breen Ave and Fischer St, taking audience members through the journey of music.
The concert will also feature a special morning tea served at tables during the performance, so concert-goers can enjoy a bite to eat while they bop to the tunes.
Tickets are free, but bookings are essential for catering purposes.
