Thanks to a connection at Goulburn Murray Cricket, Howard has been holding training sessions to help players develop their game during the off-season.
GMC operations manager James Stokes said he is grateful for the hours Howard has been putting in.
“It’s a great opportunity for our youngsters,” Stokes said.
“The GMC is funding this training because it’s another way of keeping our players engaged.
“Craig has been coming across from Bendigo after he was stood down from Cricket Australia earlier in the year.
“It’s a shame he isn’t working at the high performance centre in Brisbane, but we’re super excited by what he has been able to bring to the local area.
“Being in a regional area, it isn’t every day our players get to work with a guy who has coached players including Todd Murphy and Lloyd Pope.”
Stoke said the training was also having a positive influence on parents.
“I’ve had parents call and tell me how excited they are leaving the training sessions,” he said.
“Hopefully these sessions can give our junior program a big boost heading into the new season.”
