The four-piece ensemble of former Greater Shepparton products is headed home on the first stop of their Hometown Tour Extravaganza on Friday.
While the the band are captivating the Melbourne scene with their unique blend of psych-pop, jazz-flavoured tunes, band member Charlie Bowmaker said Go Dog Go were always looking forward to playing regional shows ‒ especially coming back to Shepp.
“A lot of our development as musicians came from our early years of smashing out covers at local events and pubs; including at The Vault,” he said.
“It’s always really nostalgic and the local crowd has a great energy.”
Go Dog Go will be headlining the string of four shows — also taking in Ballarat, Apollo Bay and Melbourne — hitting the road with Melbourne indie-pop group Meraki Minds and rock outfit The Fillmores.
“They’re both great bands and it’s exciting to be working alongside them to bring more live music to regional communities and encourage other small bands to look regionally for their tours,” he said.
