A phenomenal $22,328,154 was raised during the 2022 edition of the appeal.
Good Friday Appeal director Rebecca Cowan attended the thank-you event at Echuca Workers on August 25.
She expressed her sincere thanks to everyone from northern Victoria who was involved in the collection and raising of funds.
Former president and current member of Echuca Lions Club Laurie Stewart said the event was a fantastic opportunity for donors and volunteers to meet the team behind the Good Friday Appeal.
“This is the first time the thank-you event has been held in Echuca,” Mr Stewart said.
“Each year they pick two regional towns to hold the thank-you event and this year we were fortunate enough to be picked, along with Phillip Island.
“It was great for the people on the ground to be able to have that face-to-face contact with people from the organisation, that we have worked so hard alongside.”
Mr Stewart thanked Echuca-Moama community members for their annual donating and volunteering efforts.
“We want to thank the community as a whole — the Lions club, the volunteers, the brigades and the local businesses that allow us to place our donation containers at their place of work,” he said.
More than 80 people attended the event, with some guests travelling from Finley, Ararat, Albury-Wodonga and Shepparton.
