As part of the Families Stronger Together in Deni initiative, Deni MHAG aims at helping parents, carers and educators access resources around supporting children and young people of all ages with their mental health and wellbeing.
The funding continues to have a focus on digital and online supports.
The group tries to be responsive to the needs of the group or a community need that might be identified by the moderators.
This past month has seen multiple mental health events being hosted in the community and Headspace Echuca has joined those to promote its services and engage with the community about the supports it can offer.
Headspace Echuca also has confidential and free health advice and support and information for young people from Deniliquin and can be contacted on (03) 5485 5048.
The group has also been sharing some information about supports and resources available on the Headspace website and from Headspace National – a helpful resource for family and friends to support a young person or adult dealing with grief and loss is available on the group.
It focuses on gaining an understanding about how young people to respond to grief, how to support the young person and how to help them seek assistance if needed.
