Healthy Loddon Campaspe, a Victorian Government-funded initiative, has unveiled more than 20 new upcoming projects aimed at boosting health outcomes in the Loddon Campaspe region.

These projects, which focus on promoting physical activity and healthy eating, will be rolled out across six areas, including Campaspe.
The new projects will be held in partnership with local groups and schools and will include activities such as:
• Growing in Campaspe — teaching early learning students and their families how to grow food at home
• Healthy Schools project
• Healthy Sports Rewards project
• Walk This Way and geocaching project
• Tongala multicultural healthy eating project
• Pyramid Hill parkrun
The Healthy Loddon Campaspe projects encourage residents to get moving to stay healthy.
HLC co-ordinator Alicia O’Brien said the projects aimed to improve current health statistics for Loddon Campaspe residents.
“Data from the Active Living Census told us that 62.5 per cent of Loddon Campaspe residents are overweight or obese, and only 13 per cent of adults and 14 per cent of children meet the daily vegetable consumption guidelines,” she said.
“Delivering this new round of place-based activation projects across our region will help to address these statistics by encouraging and enabling healthy eating and physical activity.”
The projects are still in the early stages of planning and will slowly roll out over the coming months.
