The contest for round seven of the Mainline Dynalog Dynamometer All Star Sprintcar Series will take place, alongside modified sedans contesting their ‘Prelude to the Dream’, and SDAV hot rods make a welcome return with a round of their Thunder Down Under Series to round out the program.
The series has established itself in recent years as the premium regional series in Victoria and South Australia for 360 Sprintcar competition, grooming up-and-coming drivers yet providing hard, honest competition for the more established drivers.
Charles Hunter and Brad Warren have won the past two weekends and will be looking to consolidate points, while Supercars’ Cameron Waters aboard his Monster Energy Maxim has been fast but unlucky, and will be looking for a win here before stepping back to the bitumen.
Modified sedans will contest the ‘Prelude to the Dream’, a precursor to the SSA National Modified Sedan Title to be contested at Heartland Raceway over the March long weekend.
Two dozen of Victoria’s top competitors will be fine-tuning their machines in preparation for the national title where in excess of 60 entries are expected, none more so than defending national champion Kye Walters aboard his AU Falcon.
Walters won the SSA Victorian Modified Sedan Title at Portland’s Southern 500 Speedway last week, where one of his main competitors was Jarod Waters aboard his Mercedes C250, who will also be at the Heartland Raceway in Moama.
Local competitors Rachel Pratt, Jay Nicolaisen and Shaun Thompson will be joined by Bendigo’s Lennie Clark and Graham West in his LJ Torana in what is sure to be an intense event.
SDAV hot rod competitors are presenting a dozen of their finest on Saturday night to contest a round of their Thunder Down Under series.
Dean West won at Heartland earlier in the season edging out Victorian number one Shannon Meakins, while Russell and Kali Hovey are always strong on the wide-open expanses.
Phil Jenkins has shown great speed in recent shows and he too will be in the thick of competition.
A few new drivers will experience Heartland Raceway for the first time, Stu Robinson, Jade Ewart and Alan Borradale, in what amounts to another exciting night of family entertainment at Heartland Raceway.
Action at the track starts at 6pm at 110 Centre Rd, Moama.
