In an event hosted by the Broadford and District Historical Society, Mr Leti will be sharing the inspirational story of his life.
Born in 1941, Mr Leti was exposed to war-torn Europe during his early years.
In 1952, Mr Leti migrated to Australia with his family, where he grew up in Broadford and went to school in Seymour.
From these humble beginnings, Mr Leti has since become a painter, printmaker and publisher of artists’ books.
In Australia, his semi-abstract etchings, woodcuts, aquatints, monoprints and collagraphs are well known, having been presented throughout various exhibitions and within numerous publications.
Since the late 1960s, Mr Leti has been exhibiting regularly in Melbourne, Canberra, Perth, Brisbane and Adelaide, and abroad in Chicago, Cologne, Kyoto, Milan, New York and Washington DC.
For his work, Mr Leti has been honoured with various awards, including the Poll-Krasner Foundation Grant, the New York and State Library Victoria Fellowship, and residencies at the Australian National University in Canberra, Grafica Uno in Milan and The British School in Rome.
On May 28, Mr Leti will be speaking at Gavan Hall, 78 High St, Broadford, from 11am.
An entry fee of $15 will be requested upon entry, and attendees must RSVP by May 21 by calling 0490 789 074 or emailing broadfordhistorical@gmail.com
