Stuart Locke has arranged some special transport to the AFL’s Pink Lady Match between Melbourne and Hawthorn at the MCG on Sunday afternoon, August 20.
In honour of Mr Locke’s wife, Sarah, Seymour locals will pile on to the bus and head down to the ‘G’ to show their support for breast cancer research and awareness.
Breast Cancer Network Australia’s 2023 ‘Field of Women’ will be held prior to the match.
Breast Cancer Network Australia CEO Kirsten Pilatti said the bus was a wonderful way to raise awareness for the work BCNA does.
“It’s incredible community spirit,” Ms Pilatti said.
“It’s a very pink bus highlighting the field of women and what we do.
“We advocate to ensure that the best treatment and care is provided to all Australians.”
Breast cancer is the most common cancer affecting Australian women.
The Locke family has special ties to both BCNA and Hawthorn Football Club.
Daughter Sophie both plays for Hawthorn in the AFLW and is a BCNA ambassador.
The bus will also be present at Ladies Day held at Kings Park on Saturday, August 20. For more information visit the Seymour Football Netball Club Facebook page.
Head to www.bcna.org.au to register to stand in person at the MCG or ‘stand virtually’ through donation in the ‘Field of Women’.
