Tatura Park Exhibition and Events Complex played host to the hoof-pounding display of bovine control from Thursday, November 9 to Sunday, November 12.
The featured cutting and boxing competitions showcased the bond between riders and their equine partners, as well as the skills of both horse and cow.
The cutting event saw skilled horse and rider pairs working together to separate a single cow from the herd.
Meanwhile, in the boxing classes, riders demonstrated their ability to keep a cow away from a designated area, showcasing their horse’s strategic prowess and agility.
It was a battle of wits and speed as horse and rider duos engaged in a dance of evasion and control.
The inside of the centre held stalls selling clothes, hats, stirrups, saddles and more while coffee, snacks and lunch options lined the outside.
Judge Wilba Thornberry of central NSW oversaw the 88 participants as they showed off their connection with their horses.
While the main events were held from Friday to Sunday, Thursday, November 9 saw master classes in reining by Steph Lancefield and cutting by Jamie Creek.
Competitors, while largely local riders, came from as far as South Australia and NSW.
David Nash riding Gunnergetya won the Novice Cow Horse events while Abbey Webb on Metallicus was awarded first in the Limited Novice competition.
All events were Australian National Reined Cow Horse Association approved with points going towards end of year standings.
