As compensation claims for mental injuries continue to increase, local employers will have the opportunity to hear from industry experts about how to proactively implement health and safety protocols within the workplace.
The Echuca WorkSafe event on October 12 coincides with Health and Safety Month, and provides a platform for several special guest speakers from a variety of fields to speak on the subject of safe workplaces.
Topics discussed by industry experts will include the value of health and safety representatives in the workplace, tips on how to build a systems-based approach to health and safety, mental injury in the workplace and how to implement a prevention-led approach.
Attendees will also be given the chance to have their own workplace issues addressed following each session.
A casual breakfast and lunch will follow the discussions.
The event will be WorkSafe’s first in-person Health and Safety Month event in Echuca since 2019, and is one of 14 free events scheduled across regional Victoria.
The event will be held at the Echuca Workers Club on Wednesday, October 12, from 7am to 11.20am.
