Seymour and district residents will have a chance to learn more about the Inland Rail project at a meeting on Thursday, September 1.
The preferred contactor for the first portion of the Victorian Inland rail works, McConnell Dowell, will attend the session.
Australian Rail Track Corporation (ARTC) is hosting the event and encourages local businesses who wish to be involved in Inland Rail to join the session and learn about the types of goods and services that will be required.
ARTC Victoria and South Australia projects general manager Ed Walker said the project offered a chance to establish relationships with communities and businesses so regional economies could reap some of the construction benefits.
“We are incredibly mindful of how sizeable investment can reshape regional economies in a short period of time and our focus is on ensuring benefits flow directly to the communities on the Inland Rail alignment,” Mr Walker said.

The event will be held at The Seymour Club in Elizabeth St, Seymour, from 6pm to 8pm.
