With the the musical line-up including a selection of Aussie chart toppers, country favourites and international superstars, fans came from all over Australia and even overseas to be part of the famed festival.
Among the international travellers were ticket holders from New Zealand and America, and organisers say more than 20,000 people flowed through the festival gates on both days of the Muster.
While numbers were on par with previous years, the weekend’s two Guinness World Book of Records attempts came up short on previous years.
A total of 7991 utes rolled in to the Ute Paddock for the official count, continuing the muster’s legacy of gathering ute enthusiasts from all corners of Australia.
While it was 42 more utes than were assembled last year, it was not enough to beat the standing record of 9736 utes.
The blue singlet count came in just short of last year’s record with 4298 attendees proudly sporting the iconic attire, adding to the festival’s distinct vibe.
The record stands at the 2023 total of 4367.
Deni Ute Muster general manager Vicky Lowry said the entire festival site was vibrant over the course of the weekend, with more and more families coming to enjoy the festivities each year.
“What an incredible 2024 muster it has been,” she said.
“We’ve never seen so many families come out to enjoy the event alongside our loyal ute enthusiasts of all ages.
“The atmosphere has been electric and it’s truly heartwarming to see the muster continue to bring people together from all walks of life.
“This year’s turnout is a testament to the growing appeal of the event, and we’re excited to see it thrive as a celebration of our unique culture and community.
“The 2024 Deni Ute Muster was a resounding success, reinforcing its position as one of Australia’s premier festivals.
“We thank everyone who attended and contributed to this iconic celebration and look forward to seeing you next year.”
Mrs Lowry said the event was marked by its well-behaved crowd, contributing to the smooth and enjoyable atmosphere.
Despite a few light showers to settle the dust, the weather was perfect, allowing the festivities to unfold seamlessly across the weekend.
Among the many unique highlights, 25 couples ‘tied the knot’ in the event’s famous inflatable church, making memories and capturing photos that will be cherished forever.
International stars Tyler Hubbard (Friday) and Kip Moore (Saturday) wowed the crowd with electrifying performances, leaving fans eager for more.
Australian favourite Amy Shark drew a strong contingent of families, creating moments that resonated with all ages.
The legendary John Williamson brought a special magic on Friday night, pulling in a multi-generational audience for a nostalgic and heartwarming set.
There was plenty of raucous ute action across the two days, with GME National Championships Circlework, Barrel Races and Go To Wo keeping the crowds roaring while the Show ’n Shine hosted a huge array of entrants with their modified and restored utes.
Taking home first place in the people’s choice ute of the year was Bruce Sutton with a 1977 Holden #2 out of Corop.
Second place went to Moama’s Shaun Trotter with a 1983 Holden WB.
The winner of the GME Australian National Circlework Competition was Sam Horgan and Anthony White won both the Go To Wo and barrel race this year.
This year’s On The Go Safety Tradie Challenge involved four teams creating magnificent mobeels auctioned by Ray White Real Estate Deniliquin in support of the Country Education Fund Edward River Region, which assists students in regional areas with education costs.
A trio from business Rockscapes from Geelong was the champion with a magnificent fire truck design.
In addition to the incredible music and the ute competitions, this year there was truly something for everyone including the Paul Bennet Air Show, Eljay’s Junkyard Action Show, ARB Bullride Spectacular, helicopter rides, Peter Hodge Camel Rides, whipcracking, wood chopping, Brophy’s Circus, trackless train, Balloon-Master Matt Falloon, twirling tea cups, Ikea Wars, Guru Dudu Silent Disco, Hot Head Puppets, Whitey’s Ferret Racing, a sandpit, Old Mac’s Farm, Bendigo Lego User Group, Isuzu Iron Summit, the Decentralised Demountables Family Centre and Carnival Corner, the Mini Muster Mobeel Competition and a huge Smurf-themed jumping castle.
