The annual Kyabram Legacy Group handover lunch was held at the Kyabram Club on Sunday April 28, with about 50 people in attendance.
Chairperson Peter Fitzgerald was re-instated for another year and at the event he spoke of the group’s activities across the past year such as Kyabram Legacy Group’s involvement in various community groups and events.
Mr Fitzgerald also noted the group’s participation in the Legacy Centenary Year in the six-month torch relay that started in France on Anzac Day and visited every Legacy club in Australia.
Peter Fitzgerald was first instated as chairperson in 2023’s lunch.
The guest speaker at the event was St Augustine’s deputy principal Kylie Morrisey, who spoke about the long-standing association between Legacy and the college due to the Lone Pine Tree.
Legacy secretary, and emcee for the day, Gavon Armstrong was impressed by Mrs Morrisey’s speech, which explored the importance of student image.
“Listening to Kylie, we are in pretty good shape – especially in Kyabram,” Mr Armstrong said.
Campaspe Shire counsellor John Zobec also attended, and congratulated Legacy on their long-term contribution to the local community on behalf of all the guests.
