It was hosted by the school’s new school captains (see page 3) and their beloved year group adviser Kylie Barker, and included a parting speech from Shané Bothma and Benjamin Baker about some of the escapades and memorable misadventures of the year group.
The speeches all fondly recognised the memories and experiences the students had during their time at Deni High.
Another highlight was the Year 12 music students who played several pieces, including a rendition of Tom Cochrane’s Life is a Highway.
A final touching tribute was the traditional Year 12 video presentation.
It showed each student’s transformation from the start of their schooling journey to their Year 12 photos, and photo memories from across the years.
Tears, hugs and laughs flowed as the Year 12 students and their families made the formal procession out of the school hall at the conclusion of the assembly.
The group then proceeded to the school oval as the year 12s gathered with a class flag and tossed their graduation caps in the air as a final act during the school term.
The assembly only marks the students’ end to structured learning.
After a short break for the holidays, the HSC exam timetable will begin from Tuesday, October 15.
All exams across the state will be completed by Friday, November 8.
