Laurie earns retirement after three decades

Starting his YMGCR career back in 1987, the affable staffer leaves a lasting legacy, with many current and former club colleagues joining him recently for a celebratory drink and a chance to share a story or two.

"I have enjoyed a great time here at the club. I have always said, you get out what you put in. I've given the club many years, but I've received back so much more," Laurie said.

"I'll keep popping my head in to say hello to everyone; I think they'd miss my horse racing tips too much if I didn't!"

Laurie said he plans to enjoy an active retirement with more time dedicated to his horses and a few more sneaky Whisky’s with his friends.
