The strength of Metricon’s business in Echuca and Moama comes from using local trades and suppliers, which has seen many in the community, including the Elliot family, benefit from Metricon building an unprecedented number of customers’ dream homes in recent months.
After initially wanting to be a carpenter, eldest Elliot brother Scott, was convinced to become a bricklayer by his dad and they
soon found themselves laying bricks for Metricon across the region, preferring to work with the job security and ease of process that Metricon offers its local teams. Youngest brother Mitch would later follow suit completing the trio of Elliots who have partnered with Metricon since the early 2000s to deliver quality homes for the local community.
Speaking about the experience of working with Metricon Homes, Scott Elliott said, “They’re the best that I’ve experienced in terms of treating their tradespeople well, paying on time and just always having work on.
“It makes life a lot easier knowing they’ll always have work for me, whether it’s in Echuca, Moama or even in Shepparton, there’s always enough work to keep me busy.
“Dad and I started working for Metricon after we had a bit of a bad experience with another builder and we haven’t looked back since, he’s retired now but I’ll still be going for a while, I’d love to do some supervisor work for Metricon down the track. Maybe my son will be laying bricks for Metricon by then as well!” Scott finished.
Younger brother Mitch had similar praise for Metricon, saying “There’s always work going on so there’s great job security working with such a big builder.
“It’s definitely special doing the work I’ve always done with my brother and my dad. I actually wanted to be a tattooist when I was younger, but Dad and Scott brought me over to bricklaying and I’ve never looked back.
“I love that I have been doing that Metricon for about six years now,” Mitch concluded.
