Aydon Walton has been named as van Florestein’s senior assistant for next season after returning to the club in 2019.
He originally joined in 2011 from Echuca having played in the VCFL Country Championships in 2009, before going on to be selected in the Heathcote District league’s interleague team in his first year with the Bombers.
“The club looks forward to ‘Aydo’ stepping into the coaching role as he is a character that is very respected around the Leitchville-Gunbower community,” a statement from the club said.
Meanwhile, John Hogan has been named as the reserves football coach with the Bombers looking to go one better in 2021.
“John will be ably assisted by former coach Dete Colvin along with Joel McGillivray,” a statement said.
“After stepping into the leadership group during the 2019 season with the reserves, John took on the co-captaincy, giving him the confidence to take on the coaching job in 2021.
“John is a product of our junior development program within the Leitchville-Gunbower FNC, starting junior footy back in 2008 when we were competing in the Central Murray League.”
The A Reserve netball team will be coached by Carmen Dye.
“Carmen is an outstanding goal shooter and will be a key competitor in the A grade side,” the club said.
“She has coached juniors and B reserve teams, and is keen to work with Ash and develop an A grade squad that will deliver on our goals of playing and loving our netball.
“Carmen has played with all her sisters, Meg, Renee and Kylie, and these have been the highlights of her netball career so far.”
