Tank’s latest mural marks a new collaboration between the artist, the school and the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Foundation.
The new mural is featured on the wall of what once was the school’s canteen, but is expected to be transformed this year into a new healthy eating hub in the school yard.
Katie Thorp, Healthy Kids advisor with the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Foundation, said the mural came with a positive message.
“This is a visual pledge for what the focus is for the school going forward and their values,” she said.
“The intent is to use this space for more healthy food and drink engagement activities with the kids.
“Tank is really community-based and always says yes to these sort of projects, which I really appreciate.”
After completing his first mural at St Georges Rd, Tank said he was looking forward to getting the kids involved in his future projects at the school.
“It’s nice to step back and look at it now, it’s got some good responses and the kids are loving it,” he said.
“Schools are the perfect spot for murals, kids appreciate art a lot, it’s nice and bright and there’s a positive message.
“I’ve done work before where I’ve collaborated with the kids; it’d be great for them to get involved when they’re at school, the more engagement you get the more they enjoy and remember it.”
