On Easter Saturday, April 19, Federation Park will come alive for the Cobram Lions 30th Anniversary Market.
That same day, the winner of a draw organised by Cath Noonan of Noonans Jewellers and featuring donations from almost 30 local businesses will be announced.
Tickets to enter the hamper prize will come with a purchase made at any of the participating stores across town.
With hampers of chocolates and treats worth almost $750 up for grabs, there’s no better time to support your local retailers.
“In conjunction with the River Beaches Festival that is run by CCBT [Cobram Barooga Business and Tourism], we at Noonans decided to get the town organised and geared up for Easter by running this Easter raffle every year,” Noonans Jewellers’ Cath Noonan said.
“Anyone who purchases at participating stores on that Saturday will go into the draw to win up to $750 of chocolates and goodies.”
Keep an eye out in town on the day, and you might just catch the Easter Bunny hopping through the streets with treats for the children.

As if an anniversary market and Easter hamper wasn’t enough, that same day the Barooga Recreation Reserve will host a classic Barooga-versus-Cobram derby in round three of the Murray Football Netball League.
The next day, on Easter Sunday, April 20, crowds are expected to flock to Thompsons Beach to soak up the good vibes at the Easter River Beaches Festival.
Pull out your shovels and buckets and try your hand at a sandcastle competition, with judging at 2pm, or soak up the atmosphere as musical powerhouse Andrew Wishart graces the stage.
The annual duck race will also return, tickets for which can be purchased for $5 each from Noonans Jewellers, Barooga Sporties and the RACV Cobram.
“It’s a great family weekend,” Cobram Barooga Business and Tourism president Nicky Goldsworthy said.
“A lot of people who live away come home for Easter, and we find that’s why it’s such a fun atmosphere.”
