Junior students of Lockington Consolidated School opened up the final school term with an excursion to the Sealife Melbourne Aquarium.

It was an early morning for students between Prep and Year 2 as they set off at 7am on Thursday, October 7.

During Term 3, the students had learnt all about oceans and sea creatures and were able to recognise all they had learnt about during the excursion.

The students got to see seahorses, jellyfish, sharks, starfish, crocodiles and many varieties of fish.

However, the most popular animal among the children were the penguins, particularly Pesto, the largest penguin chick the aquarium has ever seen.

The students also enjoyed the change of scenery from farms and the countryside to seeing skyscrapers and busy traffic.
