High Street Barber's Rick Wilcock said he got to hang out with some “pretty cool dudes” while cutting locals’ hair.
“But you also get to hear about a lot of health problems, work problems and even problems on the home front,” Mr Wilcock said.
“The High Street Barber is known as a safe space for a cut, shave or even just a chat.
By hosting the Movember ‘Cuts for Nuts’, Mr Wilcock wants to help reduce the suicide rate among men and stop men dying too young.
“We need to raise awareness and stop the stigma of men not being able to speak up,” he said.
“Cuts for Nuts was a raging success and will come back bigger and better next year.
“We sold a heap of snags and hamburgers.
“The support of the sponsors and the community was fantastic.
“I couldn’t have put the event together without On Time Pest Control, Green Azz Turf, Coolabah Turf and Haeusler’s Echuca.”
When asked by The Riv about his Mo for Movember, Mr Wilcock said it was going “pretty good.”
“It’s looking pretty dirty and I’m keen to shave it off as the wife doesn’t like it.”
Movember runs for the month of November and you can still help out and stop men dying too young by supporting the High Street Barber’s fundraising efforts.
