The students returned with a collection of achievements as a reflection of their impressive athletic skills at the carnival on August 8.
Among the students who attended, Jonathon Moorse and Bindi Taylor left a strong impression after consistently finishing among top three across all track and field events throughout the day.
Both earned top honours, with Jonathon named senior boy age champion and Bindi securing the 11 years girl age champion title.
It was also a great day for sisters Sophie and Katelyn Eddy, who excelled in their respective events.
Sophie dominated in the 1600m race, breaking the record previously held by Katelyn.
She went on to claim victory in the 100m, 200m and 800m races as well as the junior girls high jump, finishing runner-up junior girl age champion.
Katelyn placed in the top three in most of her events and finished the day as the senior girl age champion runner-up.
After their success at the carnival, five Mathoura Public School students — Zaria Wilson-Baker, Bindi Taylor, Sophie Eddy, Katelyn Eddy, and Jonathon Moorse — have qualified to compete at the Riverina Athletics Carnival in Albury on September 6.
They will take part in various events, including the 1500m, 800m, 200m, 100m, and 4x50m relay, as well as field events such as discus, high jump and long jump.
