Four students from Mathoura Public School have earned a spot in the NSW Primary Schools Sports Association Athletics Championships.
Jonathon Moorse, Bindi Taylor, Katelyn Eddy and Sophie Eddy will represent the school at Sydney Olympic Park early next term in the Nigel Bagley Relay, an event designed for schools with enrolments of up to 54 students.
Jonathon will also compete in the senior boys’ discus while Sophie will run in the 10 years girls’ 100m sprint, as well as the junior girls’ 200m, 800m and 1500m events.
Despite its small size, Mathoura Public School has regularly demonstrated its talents in athletics and congratulates the students on their latest success.
A limited number of students are selected from each PSSA region to compete in the championships, which take place on October 23 and 24.
