He has served on the City of Greater Bendigo Council, including for two years as deputy mayor, working in communications and marketing roles at local schools and for his own business.
Mr Evans also worked for the St Anthony Family Medical Practice group, and is proud of his connection to his great-grandfather Ivor Evans, one of five winners of the 1901 federal flag design competition.
He wants to make the community a better place and enjoys playing footy for Golden Square and cricket for Strathfieldsaye.
He sees the cost-of-living crisis as the biggest issue for Bendigo residents, including the cost of groceries, fuel, power, mortgages and insurance.
Roads, infrastructure, safety, housing and access to healthcare and childcare services are also important.
In Rochester and Elmore, he identified flooding, access to water for agriculture, the state of roads, mental health and loss of infrastructure like the Rochester War Memorial Pool as key concerns.
If elected, he would look to develop strong relationships with all councils in Bendigo, including Campaspe Shire Council.
He feels that as a former councillor, he understands their advocacy campaign, pledging to work with them on achieving these points.
Mr Evans said he would put local families, businesses and communities first to bring their stories to Canberra.
The Coalition’s election plan aims to deliver low inflation, cheaper energy, affordable housing, safer communities and quality healthcare.
As a Liberal Party representative, Mr Evans emphasised measures like regional junior doctor training, a multi-billion-dollar 500,000-home building program and increased support for apprentices.
If elected, he would look to invest his time across the electorate, drawing on his experience as an Eppalock Ward councillor, which saw him represent Heathcote, Axedale and Redesdale rather than solely suburban and central Bendigo.
He would also aim to prioritise being accessible to residents.
