The bridge on the Murray Valley Hwy at Kotupna is open in both directions and work is continuing to allow access for heavy vehicles.
“Following a series of detailed safety inspections, McCoys Bridge on the Murray Valley Hwy has reopened to traffic, with a 20-tonne load limit in place while we carry out further monitoring,” Department of Transport regional director Melanie Hotton said.
“We know this closure has caused significant disruption and we thank motorists for their patience while we completed these important safety assessments.”
One part of the inspections saw trained divers check the bridge structure underwater for any damage, after it was subjected to fast-moving, powerful floodwaters.
