While we are still required to check in and prove vaccination status, all the other “restrictions” seem to be a thing of the past.
Since re-opening back in early November, it had a feeling like we were opening the doors for the first time: excited staff, an emphasis on venue presentation, and so many smiling faces coming through the doors.
All the pain of shutdowns are a distant memory and something we simply don’t want to experience again. The only reason we were able to re-open is due to a wonderful customers and the support that was shown to us during these times, whether it was buying takeaway, volunteering to help out or simply checking in to see how we were going.
We are now fully entrenched in the Christmas period with not too much time on our hands to really think too much forward, but we are excited to launch into 2022.
As it does for many people, for us January 1, 2022 will symbolise the start of a new period, a clean slate, a time to reset and kick some goals.
The hospitality industry in general is looking forward to fixing the labour and skills shortages that most are experiencing, and while we have been pretty lucky in this space, it will still be a major goal to continue to train staff and have continuity plans in place to address this.
We are also looking forward to building our service offering, by improving our infrastructure and developing new products. We have some exciting things happening in the early part of the new year that we can’t wait to share with our customers.
To our customers and the general community, please all look after yourselves and one another, have a merry Christmas and let’s push that reset button on the new year!
