The minister was here to help turn the first sod on the new Moama Police Station.
She and the NSW Police delegation then visited Mathoura with NSW member for Murray Helen Dalton, where the community is crying out for a new station to replace its condemned facilities.
Following that, the delegation continued to Deniliquin, where the minister met local officers and was also greeted by Edward River Council Mayor Ash Hall.
Chief Inspector Michael Fuller confirmed it was the minister’s first visit to the Deniliquin station.
"Earlier this month, I had the chance to visit the Deniliquin Police Station for the first time - it was a great opportunity to meet the hardworking police officers and admin staff who go above and beyond to keep the community safe,“ Ms Catley said.
"It was also great to see the station’s impressive facilities in action. It’s clear the team takes real pride in what they do, and Deniliquin is lucky to have such a well-run and professional operation keeping things in check.
"Huge thanks to Chief Inspector Michael Fuller and the whole team for the warm welcome and for taking the time to share the incredible work they do every day."
Chief Insp Fuller said the visit was a great opportunity for police and administration staff to speak with the minister.
“Joining us at a small lunch was Edward River Council Mayor Ashley Hall, so it was a great opportunity for police and the administration team at Deniliquin to talk with local government, our local member, the police minister, the Murray River Police District Commander and the Police Region Commander Southern Region.
“A small presentation was made to the minister which included some local handcrafts from the Deniliquin Visitor Information Centre, the Ute Muster museum and copies of the Deniliquin Pastoral Times, Mathoura Matters and The Koondrook & Barham Bridge.
“Deniliquin police were grateful for the opportunity to showcase the work done, and have a chance to chat with the official party and senior police.”
