With the redevelopment of Moama Recreation Reserve nearing completion, the Magpies have made a major move on-field and on-court, with the re-appointment of senior coach Luke Eldridge and A grade netball coach Jodie Lake.
Club president Matt Lake said it was an easy decision, and some good news for the club after the 2020 season was cancelled.
“We're very glad both Luke and Jodie have agreed to stay on next year,” he said.
“It provides us an opportunity to start planning, getting playing lists together and moving towards season 2021.”
Jodie, who was appointed late in 2019 to the A grade role, said she was excited for the next season.
“We have some time now to sit back, re-group and create a plan of attack,” she said.
“There was a really fresh feel around the club, a lot of new girls to the club and returning players.
“We came in with a clean slate. Everyone was ready to go, and I think not getting the start this year means the feeling will still be there in 2021.
“We will let everyone sit on this for a while. We hope majority of the group will return, but we will cross that bridge when we get there.”
Eldridge said his young playing group would be looking to build on a strong preparation for 2020.
“We felt we were in a great spot in March,” he said.
“It's such a tight knit group. We've got some young pups desperate to get off the chain.
“We've recruited well and we will look to do so again before next season.
“The year off will hopefully make the players more hungry, so when we get back they will be fit and raring to go.
“We will talk about whether we want to continue training or just set fitness programs for the next few months.”
Lake said he hopes to see both teams and the full club firing when they return.
“We will try and keep people together as much as we can in the coming months, and hopefully 2021 can be a great year for the club,” he said.
