The Incentives for Irrigation Farmers 2022-23 program provides financial incentives to help with purchasing irrigation scheduling equipment, or to develop an Irrigation Drainage and Environment Plan.
North East CMA project officer Scott McDonald said the grant provided up to $2000 per farmer to contribute to these costs.
Mr McDonald said project officers from North East CMA, Goulburn Broken CMA and Agriculture Victoria would provide technical advice to support applicants to understand their needs and further establish their application scope.
He said the amount of funding available was limited and if oversubscribed, the North East CMA would assess and prioritise farmers with the highest water use.
The grants are not available to farmers in the Shepparton Irrigation Region, but farmers in other parts of the Goulburn Broken catchment who may irrigate (for example, via pumps or diversions) are encouraged to apply.
Expressions of Interest close at midnight on November 11 and should be submitted to incentives@necma.vic.gov.au
