Greater Shepparton City Council awarded more than $600,000 in contracts at its December council meeting for three local projects.
Tactile Australia Pty Ltd was awarded the two of the contracts, which are expected to start in 2023.
One is the construction of stage three of the Echuca Rd, Mooroopna shared path for $121,301.40.
The works from Anne St to Anselmi St include demolition of kerb and channel, installation of about 518 square metres of concrete footpath, and supply and installation of signage and holding rails.
The other is $58,815 for the Shepparton East Midland Hwy recreational path.
A contract for $438,229 was awarded to Cleaves Earthmoving and Drainage Pty Ltd for stage two works of Karibok Park in Shepparton, behind the Archer St fire station, and upgrading the Vaughan and Dudley Sts intersection.
The works are scheduled to begin on January 16 and, weather permitting, finish by the end of February.
City of Greater Shepparton Mayor Shane Sali said council was looking forward to seeing the projects get under way.
“We know the community will benefit from these contracts, especially construction of the Echuca Rd, Mooroopna shared path and the Midland Hwy recreational path,” he said.
“Both projects ensure better connectivity around the region and encourage people to get outside and remain active.
“Congratulations to both of the companies for their successful tenders.”
