A Nathalia house was destroyed and two others were damaged in a fire on Saturday, November 23.
CFA firefighters were called to the fire in Federation St soon after 4.20pm, and arrived to find one house engulfed in flames.
Fifteen CFA fire trucks and three other CFA appliances were used to fight the blaze.
CFA District 22 commander Rohan Taylor said the fire spread to a second house, with two rooms burnt in it.
A third house was also damaged in the fire, he said.
It took firefighters about an hour to bring the fire under control, and two hours to extinguish it completely.
Mr Taylor praised the work of the firefighters in temperatures around 37°C.
“Our volunteer firefighters, in trying circumstances, did extremely well,” he said.
Ambulance Victoria also attended the scene to support the firefighters — checking them to ensure they were staying well hydrated.
No-one was injured in the fire.
Mr Taylor said the cause of the fire had not yet been determined, and CFA and police investigators were looking into it.
