The event will showcase a range of award-winning short films from this year’s 40th St Kilda Film Festival as well as a few short films that were created in Nathalia.
G.R.A.I.N Store chairperson Philippa Schapper said they wanted to host the film festival as the town has a growing interest in filmmaking.
“We were very keen to offer it because we have been interested in filmmaking and the advantage of short films is you get to see a lot of films in a short time,” she said.
“We certainly have a couple of young ones who have gone ahead and created life in the industry.
“We also discovered we have 10 women in their 60s who were very excited to learn how to use proper cameras and tell stories.”
The event will be held in three sessions so people can choose which sessions they wish to attend or they can opt to attend all sessions.
The night will kick off at 7pm with The Nathalia Collection followed by the award-winners from the St Kilda Film Festival.
The final session at 9pm will be a selection of Directors Choice films that hope to provoke viewers and present challenging topics.
Although tickets are priced at what people can afford, attendees are encouraged to give $10 or more where possible.
The event will be held at St Mary’s Auditorium in Nathalia.
