Mr Harley is a familiar face in the twin towns as the president of the Echuca Farmers Market.
“It’s very exciting to take on the running of the Moama Market,” he said.
“The market has a long-standing legacy, and I am looking forward to both honouring its place in our towns and growing it even further.
“As a stallholder myself for the last seven years — and will continue to be — I will be living and breathing all the work we put into making the Moama Market a really vibrant space that locals love and visitors will go away telling their friends back home about.”
The Moama Market is held on Sundays at the Moama Soundshell Gardens from 8am to 2pm.
This Sunday’s market will be the first since Mr Harley took over as licensee.
Residents and tourists who are wanting to buy fresh, locally grown products should visit the market to see what’s on offer.
“The market truly has something for everyone,” Mr Harley said.
“It’s a family day out and it’s a true adventure for visitors to our region.
“There will be live music and for locals we have fruit and veg, fresh bread and tasty food options for both breakfast and lunch — not to mention the beautiful coffee.
“Very importantly, the market is a place to be together as a community and celebrate all that is amazing about our towns.
“There are so many outstanding stallholders selling a wide selection of products, be it craft, clothing, speciality foods, books, toys and much more. Real bargains are to be found and many passionate local small-batch producers to sample wares from.
“We really hope to foster local businesses and we encourage those starting out to get in touch with our market manager, Brian.
“A lot of bigger businesses start from little market stalls but there is nothing wrong with a little side hustle if your ambitions are only to bring to life what you’re passionate about for market goers’ enjoyment.”
If you would like to set up a stall at the market or want additional information, head to the market’s Facebook page or contact the market manager, Brian, on 0492 036 410.
