INVEST Loddon Mallee is a valuable resource that will provide a comprehensive overview of the region’s industries, locations and investment opportunities while highlighting the unique attributes and competitive advantages of the region.
According to the ILM website, the Campaspe region has an annual economic output of $5.674 billion, with the towns contributing the most being listed as Echuca, Kyabram, Rochester, Rushworth and Tongala.
The key industries in Campaspe include tourism, agriculture, manufacturing and a flourishing mining sector, which from 2017 to 2020 has experienced an 80 per cent increase of mining ABNs being created.
Campaspe Shire’s Mayor Chrissy Weller said that INVEST Loddon Mallee was a fantastic resource for potential investors to analyse.
“Anything we can do to encourage these investors to consider our area and industries will of course be supported by council as it will potentially assist in creating local economic growth,” she said.
While the Campaspe region has struggled during the pandemic, the ILM website states that the future of the region is optimistic, particularly as the Murray River is a natural asset and Campaspe’s business community is considered to be engaged and pro-active with a long term vision for growth.
Ms Weller agreed that economic recovery for Campaspe is looking inevitable, particularly with the Echuca Aquatic Reserve re-development, the Echuca Station Precinct upgrades and the improvements being made to Kyabram Fauna Park.
“With the support of council and other organisations striving to boost Campaspe’s long-term economy, I have no doubt that all sectors, whether they be tourism, health, manufacturing, agriculture, will advance in this post COVID-19 time,” she said.
