The Steamers led BPL14 from the outset and qualified as the top team for the play-offs, beaten in the final by Sydney Lions.
Moama has made one forced change, with Bendigo Campaspe Goldfields pennant coach and Scottish international Kevin Anderson, unavailable because of a wedding in Scotland.
He has been replaced by a four time BPL Most Valable Player winner, Aaron Sherriff, who will bowl with Natasha Van Eldik and Ryan Bester at the May 23-27 event, being hosted by Brisbane’s Club Pine Rivers.
Sherriff, who is another of the Broadbeach Bowling Club stars to land at Moama — both Bester and Anderson have a history with the Gold Coast club — was twice won MVP in tournament winning teams.
Sherriff, despite his time being beaten in the first round of finals by the Alex Marshall led Brisbane Pirates, was named MVP at the BPL14 event.
Marshall, who spent much of the past six months in Australia, will again be part of the Brisbane franchise and aiming to add some more silverware to his cabinet — which already has two BPL MVP awards.
In 2017 with the Sydney Lions and then in 2018 with the Gold Coast Hawks. Bester is another to have won the MCP title in a winning team, when the then Murray Steamers won the title in at BPL08.
Gold Coast has been quick to find a replacement for Sherriff and will fill the void with another former tournament MVP in Shannon McIlroy.
Sydney Lions remain unchanged, with Karen Murphy, Ben Twist and Aaron Wilson all returning as their franchise aims for an unprecedented fifth title.
