Nominations are closing for Gannawarra Shire Australia Day

TIME is running out to nominate outstanding Gannawarra Shire Council residents for the 2021 Australia Day Awards. A highlight of Australia Day celebrations throughout the shire, the awards recognise the contribution residents make to their communities. “The council thanks those who have taken the time so far to nominate residents for these prestigious awards,” council chief executive Tom O’Reilly said. “Our Australia Day awards provide a fitting opportunity to give worthy recognition to people from across the Gannawarra, who devote their time and efforts to make their community a better place.” Nominations are sought for the following award categories:

● Citizen of the Year

● Young Citizen of the Year (for residents aged 15-24 years of age on Tuesday, January 26, 2021).

“If you know of someone who is a valued contributor to their community, please take the time between now and the closing date to submit a nomination form,” Mr O’Reilly said.

Nomination forms are available online at with award winners to be announced during Australia Day celebrations occurring throughout the shire.gsc.vic.gov.au/Australia_Day_Awards

Nominations close at 9am on Monday, November 30.
