Swannie has been a good supporter of our local football netball club, having been a visitor on a couple of occasions.
His visits were not confined to the time he received money for pulling on the Timbercutter’s gear, but also to support the big cash draw.
He made the initial trip loaded down with ‘goodies’ for purchase or raffle prizes to help boost the club’s coffers.
And his view about the organisation he supported – ‘It’s a great little club”
We think you are a pretty great bloke too Swannie, and congratulations on being inducted into the AFL Hall of Fame.

Just an ordinary bloke with a great love of his community – that’s a way to describe Maurice McBurnie, the latest popular local lost to Mathoura.
Probably Mo’s most generous gift to our community was the donation of land on which to develop the Mathoura Men’s Shed.
Once established, the shed provided an excellent service to locals helping residents with a range of chores.
One of the most visible has been the fence which surrounds the Mathoura Pre-school, made out of multi-coloured ‘pencils’.
It makes you smile whenever you drive past it.
Sympathy is extended to Mo’s family on their loss.

Mathoura Public School’s recent athletics carnival was a huge success with students enjoying a great day of competition.
Congratulations to Moira House on taking out the overall award, and to the various age championship winners.
Other ‘Champions’ on the day were the Carroll Family who donated the sausages (150), Brodie and Blake who cooked them, and the ladies who also contributed towards the delicious lunch.
A great success all round, well done.
