At the weekend, Schram was elected as the deputy president of Bowls Victoria.
She will fill the role left by Peter Inglis from the Simpson Bowls Club who was elected president.
Speaking on the announcement, Schram thanked outgoing president Barb Gilbert and departing finance director Ken Warburton.
“I look forward to working with Peter and the board for the next two years,” she said.
“Bowls Victoria is an amazing organisation, with a bright future, as we face the challenges ahead of us.
“The pandemic has taught us many lessons, but the biggest lesson is that we, bowlers and clubs, can deal with change.
“We have faced constant change during the past eight months, and it has highlighted that our sport is important for both our physical and mental health.”
Inglis held a similar view to Schram and said he was looking to continue helping the organisation move forward.
“Together as a board, and with our chief executive, Tony Sherwill and his team, you can be assured we will be doing what we can to secure the future of our sport,” Inglis said during the Bowls Victoria online annual general meeting.
“At today’s AGM I had the honour of thanking our outgoing president, Barb Gilbert, and finance director, Ken Warburton.
“Both have selflessly served the Victorian bowls community with distinction and both have laid a great foundation from which Bowls Victoria can build on”.
